So I used it in this post. With black. Cause black is always the new black :D
You know by now that I love hair. Long, short, blonde, brown, all sorts of hair. Mad hair too. And MAD hair. MADesigns, I mean. Their new couture hair collection is pretty amazing. It comes in black. Eight shades for each style. Most of them need hairbases, but it’s pretty easy to find a matching one. I made two looks around two of my favorite styles. Cause I do love them all.
… Hunt! Time for a little hunting now, though SL is hiding in a remote corner of my life these days :D However, I made two looks using outfits by two brands that I love, Ayla’s and Sweet Antidote, jewlery by Dark Mouse ( a hunt prize and a group gift), skins by JesyLilo and hair by Pomme d’Amour, a new brand founded by the creator of I Love Olive.
That’s how I’m preparing for the weekend! And I’m lying to myself that summer is still here and that the weather is perfect for a strapless top and shorts. And then I shake all the way back home from work :D But this is SL, right? Pixels can’t get a cold!
I usually like Moniq in casual outfits. Still, a lovely gown such as Nona, part of the L’Abel fall collection, cannot be missed. Especially when it’s complimented by this lovely updo by Pocket Mirrors (and a dollarbie also) and this delicate set by Hatpins released for the Jewelry Fair.
The beauty of SL is that you can fly with the angels one minute and dive in a volcano the next minute. And that’s what I love about this year’s Jewelry fair. Almost as much as the jewelry. Now I’m not a fan of jewelry in RL, I only wear a ring that my guy gave me and a bracelet that I found on the beach, this summer. But in SL, I love accessorizing my avatar. Earrings, necklaces, bangles brooches, anything that makes the outfit look great. Or, sometimes, any outfit that suits the jewelry pieces.
I took a trip to each of the four sims and dressed up for each of them. It was a very difficult task for me, because it was so hard to choose from so many wonderful pieces released for the event by the 100 or so participating designers. Here’s what I finally came up with:
As I said in my previous posts, there’s a lot of beauty at the Jewelry Fair. There must be more than 100 designers who prepared new releases, limited editions and charity specials for the event. And many of them also have lovely gifts for you. I’m showing you today some of the freebies and dollarbies available, but when you go grab them, remember to support the content creators and to feed the donation vendors.
I want to believe that people who make beautiful things have beautiful souls. And in some cases I have proof that they do. This post shows beauty and I know that some of the designers who made the items on Moniq are indeed beautiful on the inside. I can assume that the designers that I don’t know are the same, because they make my day brighter.
I made this white look to show you a gorgeous jewelry set by Dark Mouse. It happens that I have a thing for necklaces with flowers, ribbons and all that and it also happens that Dark Mouse makes such necklaces. The set on Moniq is a charity item, with sales going to Oxfam, and you get the set in silver, gold and copper. I chose silver, just like in RL.
I was planning to wear another skin with this white outfit, but then a notice with the latest Belleza group gift came in. I had to try it on. And then take the snapshot. And then stare at it. And yes, they are among the best skin makers in SL!
Styling and SLURLs:
Skin: Chloe Mocha by Belleza (group gift)
Hair: Wippy black by Aleida
Dress: Krista by Khush
Jewelry: Found things by Dark Mouse for the Jewelry Fair (charity item)
Poses: Just a pose for the Jewelry Fair
Jewelry Fair should be open as I write this post. There are four sims full of goodies: new releases, special offers, limited editions and plenty of gifts. Also, don’t forget to check the charity vendors, as each designer has at least one item with proceedings going to Oxfam.
Also, don’t forget about Modavia Fashion week, lots of previews from designers’ fall collections are available there.
