Cry my heart out

That’s the name of a Sugar skin that will be available for the Jack or Jill hunt, starting February 1. While it’s not what Moniq wears usually, I loved the dramatic makeup and I decided to work a “cry my heart out look”. I tried on several outfits then I decided Moniq does not need one. If I cried my heart out, the last thing in my mind would be dressing up

However, I added a pair of Phresh earrings that will also be available as prize in the Jack or Jill hunt and a hairstyle that I love, though it’s not available for purchase anymore (don’t hate me!).

The belle of the desert

If you dress up your avatar for an (almost) casual walk, where would you not go? One answer is: the desert. Just imagine those high heels making holes in the sand. Classy, right?

Well, I’m in a “what you would not do, but you do” mood, so I took Moniq to the wild desert of Texas, as shown in SL, just because. High heels in the sand FTW

Digging through my inventory i discovered this Ricielli military jacket that was perfect for the huge Tulip bag that I won at the Seasons Gatcha. The N-core boots available as group gift seemed to be a good choice to go with the bag. I added a pair of socks and leggings and a colorful necklace to justify all the colors already on Moniq. Finally I found this Sassy sweater dress in a more neutral tone to keep the whole thing from blowing up.

Color Therapy

A touch of green per day keeps the doctor away. Or the stress. Or the worries. Or whatever. The fact is, I have this gorgeous green bag (in RL and in the hottest shade of dark green ever) that I wear at work these day, though there’s really nothing else to match it. I don’t care, I have my green fix and that makes me happy.

An today I transferred the green fix to SL also. Because there’s never to much green!

That is the newest release by Chantkare, a two-tone striped top and high waist pants. Of course, I chose green. I added Exile’s Dressing Room special (two styles this round, both great) huge earrings by Glow Studio from the Seasons Gatcha (I got green at the first pop!) and my beloved Curvaceous boots. The skin is a group gift by Mojo.

Almost monochrome

This is another outfit that basically made itself, while I was trying on random things on Moniq. It all started with this lovely E skin by Adam N Eve which is free until Monday as a tribute to singer Etta James. This heavy coat is part of a new outfit released by sYs, Majestic. I call it my rock star fur coat, because that’s how I feel when I see Moniq wearing it. The parts are Sassy’s prize for the Where is the concert hunt (some great stores in that hunt, worth checking out!).

See? A rock star indeed! This Hopscotch pose helped a lot. Actually, this pose is supposed to go with an umbrella, but it turned out to be exactly what I needed to showcase this look.

The Kezia hair by Mina is available at the Tropicalia Bazaar for a special price (L$75 for the naturals pack) and the mask is by a.e.meth and it was exactly what I needed to break the monochrome look.

I couldn’t wait for Luna to launch week four of the Color Challenge second edition, so here’s my Iron look. And there’s a reason that I’m ahead this week: this look was not meant for the Iron week, but after working on it, I realized it’s perfect for this week’s color!

The lovely dress is a gift for Shay’s three year blog anniversary by Alice Project. Join the Shay and the SL Shopping Gang ( I have it in my profile) to get lots of lovely gifts!

The boots are new by Baby Monkey and the jewelry is a new release by Apple May Designs. The clutch is a Season’s Gatcha item.

Moniq emerged from yesterday’s blackout with a vintage elegant look. Please remember, if that SOPA/PIPA legislation passed, those photos would not even exist, because there’s always something that resembles something else and this could be an excuse to take anything down, including SL. Or this blog. Or any other blog. So do what you can do to help take it down!

And now, let’s enjoy the beauty of user-generated content on the wide web and SL! Moniq is wearing mesh again (I’m true to my promises, you see!). This Leri Miles Designs dress screams retro, with the elegant tailoring and the vintage pattern. It comes in several colors and the matching belt is editable. It only comes in two sizes, average and curvy.

I added this fur stole, a part of a Voix dress (the store is having a sale this month), Nardcotix pumps and a Fleshtone clutch.

The earrings by Hucci are also mesh and were sent as gift to subscribers. The pretty Essences skin is a Fashionably late special and has a gazzilion of eyeshadow, lipstick and hairbase options. The hair is a new release by Pomme D’Amour.

Retro girl

I made a lovely look yesterday (yes, my blogging time is limited these days, I didn’t even get to change Moniq’s clothes) made with some awesome stuff that I grabbed at the Seasons Gatcha festival, plus a pretty mesh dress that’s also free. And some more stuff that you’ll find out about if you read this post.

The dress is a gift for the subscribers of Coldlogic, a new brand gathering several mesh clothing designers that’s about to open soon. The jewelry set is Mood’s item for Stumblebum, so I’m not sure if it’s still available at the store. The hair, poses and shoes are Seasons Gatcha items, while the big tote is a new release by Fleshtone.

The skin was an Atomic Dressing Room special, so I have no idea if you can find it at the store or not.

Somehow this headline fits my mood so well today. It also fits this week’s Color Challenge. At first, the idea of Electric indigo scared me. Is that even a color? And if it is, I don’t really like it and there’s nothing in my inventory at least close to that!

But then I took a trip to some stores that are closing, to get some items at their closing sale, before they are gone forever. One of those stores is PixelDolls, a place that has been very dear to me – and I suppose it was for a big part of SL users. Besides the actual thought of see such an old and strong brand dissapear, I am very sad to see PixelDolls closing because they make the best of mesh: their latest clothing releases are a mix of good old layers and rigged mesh, so you can wear them no matter what size you are. Just look at this amazing dress (i got it for only L$50!):

The dress is perfect for this week’s color, you will have to believe me, or better go to see for yourselves! I distorted the color because I was in the mood to play with windlights, though.

Speaking of closing sales, I also visited Heart Softens, a little hair store that was always affordable and had lots of cute hair styles, but also a model hair range. All hair packs are now L$39, fatpacks are L$139, there’s also a LB and a free hair style, so drop by before the store is gone!

Also, Glam Affair was a big help for this week’s color challenge. Their Dressing Room skin was exactly what I needed for my Indigo look:

I’m such a twisted mind sometimes! I tried to make a black&white look, but I got bored with it as soon as I started editing the photo, so I added a Sepia filter. Of course, most of you couldn’t care less about that and would rather want to know what Moniq is wearing. So here it goes;

The pretty dress is Baiastice’s item for the current Dressing Room Blue collection, the clutch is a new release by Je Suis, part of the mesh Sauvage clutches collection, and the hair is a VIP-only midnight mania prize at Alice Project. There is a L$250 join fee, but the designer already sent a gift to the group members and has this exclusive MM offer – and fatpack too, so that alone covers more than the join fee.
