Beach Babe

Do you remember Baywatch? Hot girls, even hotter guys (or that’s what I thought 20 years ago) and a careless, endless summer. After playing dress-up for, like, hours, I ended up with this outfit for Moniq that reminds me of Baywatch. Blonde hair, tanned skin, pouty lips and an almost-dress. Al she needs is a red swimsuit now :D

Moniq is wearing the Sadie hybrid mesh avatar (minus the shape, because I rarely give up mine) in the Cocoa tone. Tameless released new hairs and I wanted to show you Katarina, because it works great with this look.

The dress is a gift by M*Motion (found it while browsing the Secondlife 24h blog) and I love it because of its vacation look.

I’m loving the new Firestorm!

I finally downloaded the new Firestorm. I admit I wanted to wait for a few days, to see people’s feedback, but now I never want to go back to the old viewer.

OMG no gridlines! For this one, I am going to be forever thankful to LL, the Firestorm team and the person who got them out of my way. And it’s so much faster too!

Another reason for joy is the new ColdLogic release: colorful tops, shorts and capris! If you like to dress sporty or casual in SL, then you need those!

And last but not least, Aeva just sent a new gift to the group members. The brand owner, Amesha Jewell, is one of the most generous designers on the grid. And now she’s having troubles with her PC and her friends are setting up an event to help her buy a new one. It starts on May 1st, but meanwhile, check the event blog for details and a list of participating stores.

Put on that little party dress

Tags

, , , , , , , ,

If I went on a date with my SL partner (which I never do because he’s busy RPing and I’m busy taking photos) I’d totally wear that dress.

If we went dancing to a club, later, I’d still wear that dress, I’d just take off the texture layer and I’d get a sexy party dress.

If I was to pick only 10 outfits to wear in my Second Life from now on, this dress would be one of them. In the fatpack version :D

Whenever Ison has a new release, I am amazed by the talent of its creator. I love the idea, the details, the texture, the way it fits my avatar. And the best part? Ison is again in this month’s Collabor88 and you can get this lovely piece for only L$88.

I had to wear this dress with the latest group gift available at Akeruka, because the makeup seems to have been done especially for it. I added moles by Dead Apples, released for Cosmetic Fair 2013, just because I love them.

The nails by Bens Beauty and the Rozena eyes are also Cosmetic Fair exclusives.

Last, but not least, I guess everyone in SL and their mothers know about the Truth hair sale. Three days later, the sim is still packed and I had no way to get in. Luckily, the Truth District sim was nearby – and it was almost full too, with avatars shopping from the edge. So I got this beautiful hair for only L$75 (and more, but that’s to be shown later).

Procrastination Queen

If there was a Procrastination Queen award, I’d win it every year/month/week, I’d totally smash competition with my procrastinating skills. But I guess they don’t do awards for that, do they?

Anyway, a new edition of My Attic @ The Deck has started and I seem to have a penchant for this event and its organizer (that’s no wonder, because Sasy is not only a great blogger, but also a SLer always willing to help out the community). So I always want to give good coverage to this event.

Obviously, the items sold at My Attic also help, because most of them are simply amazing and the creators involved always release quality stuff. If you didn’t visit My Attic yet, I strongly suggest you do it, because you need that stuff (and the prices will definitely help you, L$95 per item is a steal!).

For this look, I chose a sexy dress by DCNY (it comes in a Collision Rigged technique that is supposed to adjust to the shape better than SS. It did not quite work for me, because I’m always three viewers behind, but I only had to tweak my shape a lil bit to make it fit). There’s 10 colors to choose from and you get two belt color options plus a no belt option.

For this cycle, Adam N Eve also has two special versions of the Bethany skin @ My Attic. I chose the spring version, because I love spring better than autumn. I added a sparkling green eyeshadow by Elymode, released for the Cosmetic Fair 2013, plus an under-eye liner by Pekka, also a Cosmetic Fair release. Plus Dead Apples teeth, which I am in love with (I already blogged this item, but I have a feeling that it will end up on my “What I always wear” page, because great teeth options YAY!)

The nails are also a Cosmetic Fair release and I need to mention them because they are unlike any other nails I have seen before: they come with a hud that allows you to adjust the nails to your hand size, which can be anything between 0 and 50. No more 0/10/20/30 size hands only to get your nails to fit!

Cosmetic Fair and Mina goes mesh!

Tags

It’s amazing how a bit of makeup here and there can completely change the appearance of an avatar. An eye shadow, a mole, lipstick, teeth, and there you go, a brand new face! Add some lashes and nails and you’re all dolled up.

If you love such enhancements, the Cosmetic Fair is heaven for you. Lots of amazing brands, some establishes, some of them new (to me, at least), some of them focused on makeup only and some who also make skins. And there’s not a single thing that I could think of and is not there, from posh makeup to scars, from diva lipsticks to sleepless undereye marks.

Also, a hair brand dear to me, Mina, has mesh hair starting tomorrow! The brand owner and creator, Mina Nakamura, will release her first rigged mesh hair on the 21st, when a new cycle of My Attic @ The Deck starts. I think this is a lovely hairstyle and I hope to see more from her!

48 hours sale. Are you counting?

A flash 48 hour sale just started at PXL. It’s the latest skin line, Sophia, that’s set to a 25% percent discount for the VIP group members. If you don’t have that group, I’d suggest you join it, because of the great gifts and discount opportunities such as this one.

And to give you one more reason to visit PXL, the brand recently released appliers for SLink mesh hands and feet. And it just happens that SLink has some gorgeous new add-ons for mesh feet at the store. Just think about it! Matching your feet with the skin in just one click. SL is becoming to look like heaven to me! (you need an update to your old mesh hands and feet to use the appliers though. You can get them at the redelivery terminal at SLink).

Happy anniversary to me!

Unbelievable, right? I’ve been doing this for three years and I still love it! I never thought I’d keep this blog that long, after all I usually get bored of things. But this little blog kept me going, when I was down, because hey, a little dress-up and hairstyling can do wonders, even if they are pixels only. It saved me from bankruptcy because virtual compulsive shopping is a lot cheaper than RL compulsive shopping.

It helped me meet wonderful people, though I am still stuck on my platform, most of the time, and it helped me discover solidarity, the power of friendship and the big-mostly-happy-family that Second Life can be.

This blog is my baby and I’m proud of it, though I know I don’t have the skills or the fashion flair of some incredibly talented bloggers and photographers. It’s been three years and I have gone so far, I have improved and somehow grew along. And guess what! I still feel like a new kid on the block.

Dress-up day

Tags

From time to time, I like do dress-up. In both lives. A gown, an updo, jewelry and stuff. But in both lives, I religiously avoid events that require gowns. I like to be comfortable first of all!

With SL it’s easier, I can wear whatever I want for my photos. I can wear this beautiful dress with lace on the corsage, these outrageously sexy heels, this lovely hairstyle that I’d never be able to create in RL.

The dress is part of Amarelo Manga’s Red Carpet collection. I love the deep back cleavage and the lace detail, though I had to make my shape thinner in order to wear it without the body coming through the lace part.

This hairstyle is adorable and whenever I have some free time, I stalk the lucky boards at Love Soul to get it in as much colors as I can.

The skin on Moniq is PXL’s Sophia, which looks so great on Moniq’s face that I have a hard time taking it off.

Before Pose Fair is over….

Tags

As I promised, this post was made to showcase the new Aeva skins. In fact, I only chose two faces of the four released, but I hope you’ll forgive me for that.

Also, this is the last day for Pose Fair 2013, so if there’s something that you wanted to have, but postponed to purchase, maybe this is the best time to visit the event, before it’s over.

Plus, I know I’m late posting this, but I had to blog this little piece from The Secret Store. It was a special for Fifty Linden Friday, but I hope it will soon be released in full version.

last, but not least, Moniq has new hot wedges and they are almost free too! Check the credits to see where you can get them.
