Do you remember Baywatch? Hot girls, even hotter guys (or that’s what I thought 20 years ago) and a careless, endless summer. After playing dress-up for, like, hours, I ended up with this outfit for Moniq that reminds me of Baywatch. Blonde hair, tanned skin, pouty lips and an almost-dress. Al she needs is a red swimsuit now

Moniq is wearing the Sadie hybrid mesh avatar (minus the shape, because I rarely give up mine) in the Cocoa tone. Tameless released new hairs and I wanted to show you Katarina, because it works great with this look.

The dress is a gift by M*Motion (found it while browsing the Secondlife 24h blog) and I love it because of its vacation look.

Unbelievable, right? I’ve been doing this for three years and I still love it! I never thought I’d keep this blog that long, after all I usually get bored of things. But this little blog kept me going, when I was down, because hey, a little dress-up and hairstyling can do wonders, even if they are pixels only. It saved me from bankruptcy because virtual compulsive shopping is a lot cheaper than RL compulsive shopping.

It helped me meet wonderful people, though I am still stuck on my platform, most of the time, and it helped me discover solidarity, the power of friendship and the big-mostly-happy-family that Second Life can be.

This blog is my baby and I’m proud of it, though I know I don’t have the skills or the fashion flair of some incredibly talented bloggers and photographers. It’s been three years and I have gone so far, I have improved and somehow grew along. And guess what! I still feel like a new kid on the block.

Since I’m back in town and back to blogging, I think it’s about time you meet Saya, the new release by Envious creations for The Skin Fair 2013.

Also, for some things that I did good, I decided to reward myself with a pretty dress for my avatar, so I went to Maitreya. Obviously, I chose green. Had I managed to blog this outfit yesterday, I would have been just in time for St Patrick’s day. However, a green dress is a green dress and I love it every day of the year.

Before we get to the photos, let me tell you that Adore & Abhor turns five in SL and there’s an anniversary shopping area with items from several brands. Great prices too! I chose for this post a little heart bag by A&A, released for the anniversary event.

Black and white

What is the classiest, classical, timeless color combo? To me, that’s black and white. I could always pull off a B&W outfit and be suited for any event.

And when stripes are involved, I am even happier. So when I saw this new Fleshtone skirt, for  SoHo Sample Sale, I needed to build an outfit around it. I used a sweater by The Secret Store, a new release as cute as everything in that store, and some B&W accessories from my inventory.

The ColdLogic anniversary month is getting better and better. After 10 days of sale, the owners of the brand not only gave their subscribers a free dress, but also provided the opportunity to win all their releases until 2014 if you win a photo contest.

Little black dress

The mirror obsession is still haunting me, it seems. This time, I even tried a portrait. Though it’s a lot harder to work with water and I’m spending a lot more time on setting the scene for photos (and I thought that hopping around the grid for good locations was hard!), I’m still passionate about the mirror effect. Maybe one day my photos will even be amazing! (though I’m sure that, by that time, I will be called “the crazy mirror blogger”).

Anyway, there’s more interesting stuff to be told than my photography struggles. A new cycle of FaMESHed starts tomorrow and The Secret Store has a lovely little dress there. It comes in several color and color mixes, so you can surely find one to suit your taste. What I love most about it is the retro feel. (And yes, it’s very short too!)

I chose black because I wanted to wear it with this hair by Tameless, which also has a retro touch. And also a fierce touch, because hey, animal print! I added a pair of pumps by Fanatik that are currently available as group gift and a little bag by Pure Poison. That was the easy part. Five props and a dozen of windlights later, here’s what came out:

That means look of yesterday

I built  this outfit suited for a shopping trip – something casual, but on the sexy side, using stuff that was waiting in my “to blog” folder for a while and older releases that I still love wearing.

First and foremost, though, you should definitely check the sale at fri.day, as many items will be retired after January 13th. Meanwhile, you can stock up on hair, shoes and clothing – even new releases – for amazing prices.

Also, you get no close-up for today because Moniq is wearing (yet again) one of the beautiful new skins by Aeva, already featured in my previous post.

Sway my Way

There’s a new event going on in SL. It’s a fundraiser for Sway Dench, a talented creator and a lovely SLer. Dozens of designers donated special items for this event and some of them are even transferable, so you can buy them as gifts for your friends. Also, there will be parties hosted by beloved SL DJs.

Sway will need financial help as she is about to undergo brain surgery Check the event blog for more info and more ways to donate.

Just when I was about to swear I’m done with gachas, there’s the PXL fantasy skins one. If you can pass such a treat, let me know HOW!

I was a bit bummed cause I never got one of the naturalish looks and hey, what am I to do with fantasy skins? But then I decided I gotta think out of the box and hey, it was even funny!

First of all, I decided to play with my grayscale win and make a black and white photo in SL. So I dug in my inventory for black, white or gray stuff and, guess what, I made it! No desaurate was used in the photo!

To add a bit of drama to the photo, I made another pic, this time with my red gacha skin, and pasted it in the B&W photo. Thank god for the Exposeur shadow box – this must be one of my favorite props ever, because it had just the grayscales I needed as background!
