It’s amazing how a bit of makeup here and there can completely change the appearance of an avatar. An eye shadow, a mole, lipstick, teeth, and there you go, a brand new face! Add some lashes and nails and you’re all dolled up.

If you love such enhancements, the Cosmetic Fair is heaven for you. Lots of amazing brands, some establishes, some of them new (to me, at least), some of them focused on makeup only and some who also make skins. And there’s not a single thing that I could think of and is not there, from posh makeup to scars, from diva lipsticks to sleepless undereye marks.

Also, a hair brand dear to me, Mina, has mesh hair starting tomorrow! The brand owner and creator, Mina Nakamura, will release her first rigged mesh hair on the 21st, when a new cycle of My Attic @ The Deck starts. I think this is a lovely hairstyle and I hope to see more from her!

A new edition of My Attic @ The Deck just started and there’s a lot of color for you. The current theme is Pop Music so if you’re into party time outfits, it will definitely be the place for you.

For today’s post, I chose an edgy hair by Mina and a colorful Spice-Girls style dress by DCNY from the current My Attic stock.

Also, I just had to blog this jumper by Peqe, available at Zodiac, though it already had extensive coverage. Why? Because I love it! And it’s a great match for the Mina hair.

Also, Deetalez has a new skin line and for the group members there are two dollarbie versions in the store.

Leverocci, one of my favorite apparel brands in SL, moved to a new sim called Mode. The build, all mesh, is pretty amazing and so are the new releases (stay tuned, some will be blogged here soon). Also, there was an opening party – which I missed – and a gift sent to subscribers, which Moniq is wearing in this post. The photos are taken on the Mode sim.

Hair Fair & ColdLogic

Just two more days before Hair Fair and I’m jumping for joy already! Can’t wait to see what amazing stuff designers prepared for us this year!

Don’t forget to join the Hair Fair demo group for a preview of the styles available at the event as of Saturday. Also, you might want to turn off group notices, to avoid capping!

Please remember that 15 percent of ALL hairs will go to Wigs for Kids, a charity helping chindren who lost their hair to lead a normal life.

Just as I did last year, the first preview I chose to do this year is Mina’s hairstyles. There’s three of them this year – one of them has a male version too, so don’t forget to bring your partners or malts or male friends to the event.

Also, Moniq is wearing a top and skirt that are part of the new ColdLogic releaseof sexy tops, skirts and shorts. Drop by the store, it’s always worth it (if you go there, also check the item for One Voice, the fundraiser for Curio creator Gala Phoenix).

If you love the work of a SL content creator, stand up for them! If you are against coybotting, stand up for original content! These seem to be the key phrases in SL these days.

You probably found out how Gala Phoenix of Curio has been dragged in a legal battle over her skins and that her content is not on the grid at this point. (more info here).

An impressive number of content creators – from top brands to small stores – have gathered to make a fundraiser for Gala Phoenix, so she can cover part of the legal fees. If you are willing to help, go shop at the One Voice event. Designers are donating 50%-100% of their sales there to Gala. You get to spend your money on pretty items and Curio gets the chance to come back with more beautiful skins (see the brands involved here).

In the photo below, Moniq is wearing a lingerie set by Nzuri and a haistyle by Mina, both donation items for the One Voice fundraiser. There will be lovely skins at the event too, I’m sure, but for me, this is a Gala skin week. I will use the Curio skins in my inventory for my posts, because I want all my readers to remember how great they are and hope for more Curio skins on the grid.

Decisions, decisions…

What do I wear? This is a very difficult decision for us fashionistas… an we have to face it every single day! (or twice a day, for that matter).

This Dressing Room prop by PNP is a perfect illustration of a fashionista’s day-to day life. It comes wit five built-in poses and clothes on the hangers. To make it even more epic, I rezzed several pairs of shoes.

With summer almost here (yeah, right, you couldn’t tell that in this rainy, cold day) I wanted Moniq to take a walk in the countryside. She put on some comfy clothes: Boom baggy Tee, Coldlogic capris and S@abbia boots (snatched from the Lucky Board). A little black bag, also by S@bbia, was included in the casual outfit.

One reason to be happy? That’s easy: the Shag booth was finally set up at Culture Shock. I must admit I was a bit of a stalker, from the first moment I was allowed on the sim. I even logged off there, so I can log back in from time to time and check the booth. Yes, a girl would go that far for great hair! Finally, the setup is complete and the brand has two styles out. Both of them are donation items, with 50% of the sales going to Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Moniq is wearing Cherie, a glamorous updo that won my heart from second 1. I chose this white-ish tone with roots because it works so well with the color of my new Ison mesh jumpsuit (also a new release for Culture Shock). It reminds me of Miranda from “The Devil Wears Prada”, though the styles are so totally different.

Wear Gray

Yes, it’s that time of the year again! The Wear Gray Market will open at the end of this week, with proceeds going to the American Brain Tumor Association for cancer research. The event starts on April 6th and ends on the 22th, so you  have plenty of time to shop. The list of participating stores is pretty impressive,you can check it on the official blog.

Meanwhile, here’s a preview of Zibska’s Alessa ensemble, one of the brand’s releases for Wear Gray for a Day. I matched with Glam Affair’s Linn skin available at the Dressing Room, a hairstyle by Mina in my favorite black-gray shade and Baby Monkey shoes.

I was not expecting such a design from ColdLogic, because they were more on the “cute girl next door” side so far. But who doesn’t love a sexy short dress? I, for one, am a fan of the new dresses, because they fit so well on Moniq’s shape! Yes, her big bootie is sometimes a problem when it comes to mesh, but with this dress, I had no issue!
