The beauty of SL is that you can fly with the angels one minute and dive in a volcano the next minute. And that’s what I love about this year’s Jewelry fair. Almost as much as the jewelry. Now I’m not a fan of jewelry in RL, I only wear a ring that my guy gave me and a bracelet that I found on the beach, this summer. But in SL, I love accessorizing my avatar. Earrings, necklaces, bangles brooches, anything that makes the outfit look great. Or, sometimes, any outfit that suits the jewelry pieces.

I took a trip to each of the four sims and dressed up for each of them. It was a very difficult task for me, because it was so hard to choose from so many wonderful pieces released for the event by the 100 or so participating designers. Here’s what I finally came up with:

Fire came first. The sim, with the dark ground and volcanoes, inspired a dark look. And this gorgeous set by Violator is exactly what I needed. Meet the Queen of Noir!

And now here’s your proof that water does not kill fire: I landed happily on the water sim, wearing a dress made of waves and an opulent necklace by Eclectica:

Sometimes, water gets soeasy (or happy?) and climbs into the sky. Moniq went for a walk through the clouds, happy in her sumptuous feather dress and matching Zibska jewelry.

And finally, back to earth, with a sleeping beauty look – green, of course to match the delicate Sian Burke set.

If you take a walk to the four sims, you can play gatcha, buy exclusive items, collect the gifts prepared by the designers or attend classes to learn how to become a jeweler or a great jewelry photographer. They are on the air sim and the schedule is available on the official blog.

And while you’re there, don’t forget about the charity component of the fair. Every year, part of the sales from the event go to Oxfam, a confederation of 15 organizations working together to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. There’s a limited edition auction with 100% of sales going to charity and designers have donation items at their booths too, with a percentage going to Oxfam.
